My daughter just recently broke up with her boyfriend but it seems she is unable to move on. Is there anything that we can do to help her or is time just the answer? "Worried Mom"
Dear "Worried Mom"
I understand your concern for your daughter. Everyone grieves the loss of a relationship in his or her own way and time. However, it sounds as if your daughter maybe holding on to the relationship instead of grieving it. The best support you can give your daughter is to encourage her to focus on letting go and "fixing" herself. The time right after a breakup is often very vulnerable, so providing lots of tender care and support focusing on all of her positive qualities is very helpful. If she is not done with her boyfriend and they end up back together, just continue to let her know how important it is to work on herself to have the best possible relationship she can have.
